Christine Smith Wins California Libertarian Primary
(PRWEB) February 8, 2008 -- Libertarian presidential candidate Christine Smith's strong support among Californians and California Libertarians was shown on Super Tuesday when she received an overwhelming victory over all other Libertarian candidates.

Smith's lead over all other LP presidential candidates was demonstrated across the state of California: carrying wins in the counties of Alameda, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Fresno, Humboldt, Imperial, Kern, Lake, Los Angeles, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Mono, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Orange, Plumas, Riverside, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Sierra, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Tulare, Tuolumne, Ventura, Yolo, Yuba, and placing most often 2nd in the few remaining counties.
Winning with 25.2% of votes cast for LP candidates, no other Libertarian candidate came even close to the 3,453 votes cast for Smith. (There were 11 other Libertarian candidates listed on the California primary ballot.)
Smith's 25.2% majority was followed by Kubby (17%), Root (13.9%), Jackson (8.8%) and Phillies (5.1%).
